lyrics

Caring For The Coast

There’s lots of little sea creatures we can know
Caring for the coast will help them grow
Caring for the coast – it’s such a pleasure
It’s loaded with life and lots of tiny treasures

Watch a small sea star lift a brittle limb
You prefer to walk where others chose to swim
But your best trick by far is hidden out of sight
You drop your stomach out your mouth – a funny type of bite!

You’re so delicate, delightful with your camouflage wagging
A cousin of a seahorse – a leafy sea dragon
Tiny, exquisite, a Southern Ocean jewel
Mimicking the plants in the warm rock pools

Sophisticated sea weed crabs gather round
By your hungry predators you can’t be found
Snipping bits of seaweed that you glue on your shell
A crab or a weed – I just can’t tell
